The purple fruit snake is a native to the planet Vergon 6 which can eat whole people. It is one of the Vergonian species the Planet Express crew needed to save from extinction in the year 3000. [1ACV04] Unfortunately, Nibbler ate it along with the other animals.

- A green fruit snake appears in "How Much is that Mutant in the Window?", but the species went extinct in "Love's Labours Lost in Space".
- However, there may be different colours of fruit snakes, and only the purple one became extinct.
- It was probably brought back with the other extinct species by the Last Encyclopod.
